In the discussion of the new LC policy on series access, does anyone 
know if LC discussed establishing a new series transcription field for 
uncontrolled series titles? Field 445 would be nicely harmonious with 
245 in that the latter is for uncontrolled bibliographic titles. Field 
445 would have the added advantage of having a loose indicator for non-
filing characters so one could index uncontrolled series titles as 
phrases.
