My PCC Colleagues,
Spring has sprung, the lagomorphs have been jumping, the trees have begun blossoming, and the pollen hangs heavy - in other words, this is no time to be nesting, but breaking out of our winter cocoons! To celebrate the season, the PCC Calendar has been updated and now includes room assignments for the upcoming ALA-Annual meeting in New Orleans. Please confer with the calendar at: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/calendar.html to make sure that you have your PCC appointments recorded!
The second meeting of SACO-At-Large will take place during the ALA Annual meeting in New Orleans on Sunday, June 25, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. to Noon at the JW Marriott, Orleans Room. The full agenda will be forthcoming and will include a presentation by SACO Mentor, Mary Charles Lasater (Vanderbilt University) on how contributions to the SACO program are driven by entry vocabulary found in other thesauri, particularly in MESH. This meeting will not be a mere reporting session, but should elicit discussion and participation. New SACO-Only members are cordially invited to attend.
The 2nd quarter reports from each of the Standing Committees are now available on each of the respective home pages. Please visit http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/archive/SCA2ndQ2006.pdf for the SCA report; visit
