Absolutely true. But I didn't hear Tony say that he was interested in
implemented SRU for its own sake or that he wanted to implement two
services to accomplish the one task.
The only requirement I heard was a service for humans. If he needs to
serve applications as well, then the layered approach is definitely the
right way to go. Put all the smarts in the SRU layer and write a simple
HTML gateway.
