When I was at Michigan (2003-2005), Beth Yakel taught a course at the
School of Information called Access Systems for Archival Materials. We
spent a few weeks on EAD, including basic XML theory, hand-coding with
XMLSpy, and a course on creating and applying stylesheets. A full
description can be found at
http://si.umich.edu/courses/description.htm?passCID=138. EAD was also
touched on in the basic ARM class (Understanding Records and Archives).

Subject: EAD courses offered at library schools
Does anyone know of a general list, or a
cross-sectional/representational list, of EAD courses offered at various
library schools around the country? I'd like to get an idea of (a) how
many schools offer courses focused on EAD (b) how many offer courses
that include some discussion of EAD and (c) what material is covered in
a typical (ha!) class. I'm aware of the workshops at places like RBS in
Virginia, but am curious about regular full-semester courses -- the
biggest question being, of course, "Are there any?"
Any and all information on this would be appreciated.
