LC series decision: OCLC’s implementation of LC’s decision
Of course the biggest issue is how OCLC should load LC’s records. There
seems to be consensus that we don’t want LC series practice to necessarily
overlay series fields in a PCC record. Should that extend to non-PCC
Should non-PCC members be allowed to create series authority records?
Should they at least be allowed to create a “stub” series authority record
with a 1XX and any desired 4XX fields?
What changes to series fields in a bibliographic record can we make under
the guise of enhance, enrich, and upgrade?
Since LC will no longer be maintaining series authority records:
can and should OCLC automatically supply “|d -May 2006” in 645 fields?
what happens if a non-PCC member notices an error in a series
what happens if a series authority record needs to be deleted?
