The Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) is a leader in the
international community of academic institutions involved in developing
approaches to preserving digital content. FCLA runs the Florida Digital
Archive, a long-term preservation repository for the use of the public
universities of Florida. (See http://www.fcla.edu/digitalArchive/.) The
archive uses a software application called DAITSS, which is being
developed at FCLA and will be released as open source software in 2006.
DAITSS is an object oriented repository management application developed
in Java for Unix.
This position is for a programmer analyst on the digital archive team
which is developing and operating the Florida Digital Archive. Duties
will include work on the design, specification, coding and operation of
DAITSS.
Salary $38,000 - $58,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
