I'm not going to go so far as to second that proposal, but I would like
to voice some concern about '=' and eq. The rational part of the world
is going to think that they are synonyms for each other. We've already
got folks talking about le as a synonym for '<', so the confusion
between eq and '=' is going to get worse.
