Hi Sue --
If you will send me the sample ead finding aid and your xsl style
sheet, I'll be happy to take a look.

Hi Michele,
A few weeks ago you sent me some emails (see below) about stylesheet
encoding for the <index> tag. I've tried inserting the code you sent
me
into my stylesheet, and beyond getting the <head> to display, I'm
having
no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,

Subject: Query re: <index> tag
Much depends on how you want the index to look, but basically it would
go something like this:
XML:
<index>
<head>Index</head>
<indexentry>Aardvarks</indexentry>
<indexentry>Zimbabwe</indexentry>
</index>
XSLT:
<xsl:template match="index">
<xsl:apply-templates />
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="indexhead">
<h2><xsl:apply-templates /></h2> (or however you want to format
the index title -- bold, underline, indent, etc)
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="indexentry">
<!-- this will make each index entry a P element in the HTML
-->
<p><xsl:apply-templates /></p>
</xsl:template>
Or if you wanted the index to come out as a list in HTML, you could
do
this:
<xsl:template match="index">
<ul><xsl:apply-templates /></ul>
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="indexentry">
<li><xsl:apply-templates /></li>
</xsl:template>

Hi all,
I have a query regarding display of <index> tags. I need to set up an
index in one of my finding aids, but my stylesheet is not set up to
display the tags. Can anyone share the coding for this? Stylesheet
coding is, at this point, still relatively uncharted waters for me.
Thanks!
