Dear Carolyn,
I would like to request three corrections for the "Idaho Project" in
the "Multi-Library NACO Projects" listings.
The Idaho State Library (Id) changed its name this summer to the Idaho
Commission for Libraries. See the statement at the bottom of their Web
page
http://libraries.idaho.gov/index.htm "Idaho Commission For Libraries
formerly the Idaho State Library"
Idaho State University (IdPI) is a member of the Mountain West Funnel,
not the Idaho Funnel. The catalogers at ISU came to the NACO training
held in Boise in July 2005 when the Idaho Funnel was formed, but at
that time they were members of the Mountain West Funnel and they
preferred to retain their relationship with Rachel Wadham, that
funnel's coordinator. ISU has never considered itself a member of the
Idaho Project, nor have they ever submitted their records to me, the
coordinator of the Idaho NACO funnel, for review.
About a year ago I passed on to LC the request of the cataloger at
Brigham Young University--Idaho (IdRR) to join the Idaho NACO Funnel.
Previously, BYU-Idaho was a member of the Mountain West Funnel, but
their cataloger preferred to participate in the Idaho funnel instead.
Although I recall receiving an e-mail confirming the transfer, I seemed
not to have saved it. I do not see IdRR listed under the Mountain West
Project either. Because of other significant cataloging projects that
kept him busy, Chris Fox, BYU-Idaho's cataloger, did not have time to
create or update any name authority records this year and does not have
any NACO statistics for FY 2006.
Let me know if you need more substantial documentation for any of these
changes. Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Linnea Marshall, Coordinator
Idaho NACO Funnel
