Hello,
I'm a new member to this list and would like to introduce my author's
website and announce that my first novel: /Dream of the Dragon Pool - A
Daoist Quest/ is a historical fantasy set in 8th century China that will
be published by a New York literary press in April, 2007.
I'm a medieval China scholar turned fantasy writer. I am trying to
establish an traditional Chinese fiction genre, /wuxia/ (which is mostly
translated as "martial arts" fiction, but which I am dubbing,
"Chinese-style heroic fantasy" since my emphasis is not on the fighting,
but on the fantasy-adventure aspect), as a sub-genre of English language
fantasy writing. The novel follows the adventures of China's greatest
poet-adventurer, Li Bo (also, Li Bai), who was a historic figure and
remains well loved by the Chinese and many in the West who have read his
poems in translation.
Much more of this and of me can be found on my website: www.aadalia.com.
There is also a blog attached to the site where I'm explaining the
literary heritage of this genre in Chinese literary history. Please drop in!
Best Wishes
Albert
