Princeton Theological Seminary is seeking a Metadata Librarian to assist
with production of metadata for a variety of projects in Special
Collections. Responsibilities include cataloging print resources,
expanding digital collections, converting printed finding aids to
Encoded Archival Description, performing quality control of existing
metadata, and developing for the web. This position requires a master's
degree in Library Science, Information Science, or the equivalent; and
knowledge of a wide variety of metadata standards (including AACR2,
Dublin Core, EAD, MARC, METS, MODS, TEI, and XHTML). Preferred
qualifications include experience with XML and related standards such as
Cascading Style Sheets, Document Type Definitions, SRU/SRW, XML Schema,
XPath, XQuery, and XSLT, as well as familiarity with relational and
XML-native databases.
