for DTIC's 2007 Conference. "Defense Information for All" is the theme
for this year's conference, which will be March 26-28 (Monday-Wednesday)
at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town, Alexandria, Va.
The first day of the conference opens with an address by Ms. Debra M.
Filippi, the Information Sharing Executive for the DoD Chief Information
Officer. Ms. Filippi is the DoD point person responsible for
an executive order protecting Americans by strengthening how terrorism
information is shared. Monday's schedule also includes plenary sessions
examining the DoD Research and Engineering (R&E) Portal, the Defense
Science and Technology Advisory Group (DSTAG) and information security.
Open source will be a hot topic this year with a keynote address, on day
two, by Mr. Eliot A. Jardines, Assistant Deputy Director of National
Intelligence for Open Source. Other sessions that day will examine the
management and handling of proprietary information within DoD, evolving
legal developments in the areas of information assurance and information
sharing, and the policy and process for the clearance of DoD information
intended for public release.
The final day of DTIC 2007 will feature Ms. Lin Ezell, Director,
Museum of the Marine Corps, as the luncheon speaker. Also on day three,
everything you need to know (but perhaps didn't know who to ask) about
DTIC's operations, services and benefits will be showcased, including a
DTIC update, searching DTIC's Scientific and Technical Information
(STINET), topics in information collection and unveiling the newly
DTIC 2007 will also feature a number of government and commercial
exhibitors demonstrating and discussing the latest information services
