Systems Librarian
Lanmark Technology, Inc. is seeking a full time Systems Librarian for the U.S. Department of Labor's Wirtz Labor Library located in Washington, DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the integrated online library system Horizon. This person will be chiefly responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the use of the integrated library system. The candidate should be familiar with system processes in technical and public services, be able to translate system processes into practical, useful instruction for staff, as well as create and produce reports using SQL. The Systems Librarian will also work with other librarians to maintain computers and related equipment in the library. The librarian will also participate in liaison activities with the IT department and on library committees in addition to work on other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in library science from an accredited institution preferred, however previous experience administrating a Horizon system can be substituted. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. The candidate should have the ability to set priorities, take initiative, work independently and manage large projects efficiently.
