The ILS's we support which use 852 have an 852 for each copy/volume,
which we create on export from the single Catss* style 090 in our
master record.
Now that we are also creating 876 on export, there is only one per
record, and no way of knowing to which 852 it relates. All it
contains is the public note. It seems to me 590 or 852$z would be
better, but is is not ours to question why ... .

*Catss was the operating system of UTLAS, whose format we still use
because it drives our local product production programs such as labels
and cards (yes we still do a few cards). It is sophisticated enough to
produce a single label for an added copy or volume. It used to
produce just an updated shelf list card (rather than a set of cards)
for added copies and volumes, but we've given up doing LC look-a-like
cards for something simpler on fanfold card stock. Anybody want boxes
and boxes of 3 x 5 in. card stock?
