Hi Mike
For service-level metadata, the GSDI registry has indexes for
both the place where the collection is hosted and the coverage
area of the content of the collection. These GSDI records (see
http://registry.gsdi.org/browse.php?order=title and choose any
record) are mapped as GILS records for searching. Search also
interoperates with UDDI and ebRIM service registry clients.
I can send you the pqf.properties file for a YAZ implementation,
if you like. Also, you can see how this service registry search
chains to collection search at http://www.search.gov/gsdi/ge.ppt
