Juan Williams to Speak on the Civil Rights Movement in Conjunction with
Witness to History: The March on Washington Exhibit
Juan Williams, author of "My Soul Looks Back in Wonder: Voices of the
Civil Rights Experience," will speak on July 21, 2007 from 3:00 to 5:00
pm in the Department of the Interior Auditorium. This presentation,
which is in conjunction with the Department of the Interior Museum
exhibit Witness to History: The March on Washington, is free and open to
the public.
A senior correspondent for National Public Radio and Emmy Award-winning
writer and television correspondent, Juan Williams will speak on how the
historical struggle for civil rights has transformed American life. The
battle for civil rights touched the lives of every American and the
movement continues to be a force in America. A book signing will
follow the lecture.
The U.S. Department of the Interior Museum is presenting the lecture,
which is part of the exhibit Witness to History: The March on Washington
commemorating the August 28, 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and
Freedom. The exhibit features 10 original never before seen watercolors
by David Granahan depicting the day's activities. The Interior Museum
is also located in the Main Interior Building. For more information on

The Department of the Interior Sidney R. Yates Auditorium in the Main
Interior Building. The visitor entrance to the Main Interior Building
is at 1849 C Street, N.W. in Washington, DC. Each adult must have photo
identification to present to the security guard. The public will also
have access to the Interior Museum and its exhibits on the work of the
Department, including the Witness to History: The March on Washington
