The Associated Press has released a story about the fading cassette
industry that contains misleading information about the NLS digital
conversion. The article contained statements that are slanted to garner
support for a local cassette producer.

NLS wishes to assure patrons, the network of cooperating libraries, their
parent organizations, and other stakeholders that the launch date for
digital talking books continues to be 2008.
