This looks good and relatively uncontroversial to me. On your
1. Should amdSec be repeated for any reason, e.g. for all the
metadata for each object? That is, is it acceptable to repeat the
elements under amdSec and use the ID/IDRefs for associating the data
files with appropriate metadata sections? Or should this decision be
left to the specific implementation?
I've grown to dislike allowing people the opportunity to implement
things differently unless there is
a *compelling* good reason to do so; it just makes interoperability
that much harder. So, I'd rather
not leave it to the specific implementation. Putting all of the
elements under amdSec and using
ID/IDREFS works and adheres to METS' general notion of how things
should work. Occam's
razor applies here.
2. Is there a reason to recommend use of the PREMIS container in all
cases or is it acceptable to allow it only if all PREMIS metadata is
kept in one section?
It's not only acceptable to allow it only if all PREMIS metadata is
one section, I think it's preferable.
