Adam, Adam, Adam,
You should report the duplicates to your LC liaison. Trusting to a 667 note like this and not reporting the duplicate to your LC liaison serves no practical use in getting the record deleted. We are well accustomed to duplicate reports of duplicates from members, as well as the pleasant sensation of calling up duplicate records and finding that the matter has already been dealt with by someone else at LC.

Sherman,
The situation you describe is exactly the one that happened here. Our authorities/database management librarian sent me a message that there were two duplicate authority records, one that had a year and place in the conference heading, the other that didn't. When I looked them up, I saw the 667 note. This saved me from reporting these to Coop Cat, although it
raised the question that prompted me to write to this list.
