          Subject:  Machine-repair annual statistics report
          
          
          
          NLS requests that machine-lending agencies (MLAs) and network libraries
          provide information about the number of machine repairs they coordinated 
          during fiscal year 2007.  This information will be used in developing the NLS
          machine-repair budget.  Each MLA and network library is asked to complete 
          the report in the network library database by __December 11, 2007.__
          
          To access the network library database, log into the network library services 
          web site, www.loc.gov/pics/ using your administrative user ID and password. 
          "Network Database" is the eighth link on the menu.  Link to "Cassette Book
          Machine Repairs" and follow the prompts.  A sample of the screen is attached.
          
          Libraries that are not involved with equipment repair should check the box 
          at the top of the screen for "No repair activities this year" and then click the
           Submit" button at the bottom of the screen.
          
          MLAs also have access to the "Repair" screen for libraries in their service area 
          and with their agreement, can submit repair information for them.
