I tried this, once, while working with the Ediffah project in Sweden. It isn't trivial and I gave it up (I haven't returned to it since because I haven't had any EAD-related projects for some years now). One of the problems was that I never figured out how to code forms in open office basic.
I do have some XSL here http://www.sigfrid-lundberg.se/2005/eadoo/, which implements the round-trip form EAD to open office and from open office to EAD. They are obsolete now since they are pre-ODT

Subject: EAD and OpenOffice
HI. As a french librarian, ead is an interesting thing for me.
I'd like to know if there exist, like for TEI here : http://www.tei-c.org/wiki/index.php/TEI_OpenOffice_Package, an OpenOfice package which allows to use Ead within OpenOffice
In fact, in my library, we have some files under OpenOffice that I'd like to "translate" in EAD...
Thanks for your answers, and with my apologizes for my bad english
Best regards
Avec mes salutations les plus cordiales.
