Since MARC field 100 only allows a single subfield a, I'd interpret that
as corresponding to only a single <persname> or <corpname> in the
<origination> element at the archdesc level. Additional <persname> or
<corpname> elements could be put in the <controlaccess> section, with
encodinganalog=700 or encodinganalog=710 .

Subject: authors in <origination>
According to the tag library, <origination> is comparable to MARC fields
100, 110, 700, and 710. Is there a best practice for the number of
creators to include in <origination> at the <archdesc> level?
Most of our collections have a single creator, which we tag within
<origination> using either <persname>, <corpname>, or <famname> with the
appropriate value in the encodinganalog, either 100 or 110.
However, some of our collections have multiple creators, which it would
be possible for us to include in <origination>, tagging them as either
<persname>, <corpname>, or <famname> with the appropriate encoding
attribute, either 100, 110, 700, or 710.
Would it be best practice to include the main authors and /all/
additional authors, or only the main author (corresponding to the 100 or
110 field in the MARC record)?
Thanks for the feedback.
