(sponsored byFLICC, OCLC CAPCON, SLA and ARL)
Effective communication and presentation skills are a signature feature
of highly successful people and generally these skills have to be
cultivated and learned. No matter where you are presently in your
career, you can significantly enhance your professional prospects by
learning how to become a more confident and compelling speaker.
The Art of Strategic Persuasion: Essential Skills for Leaders is a
must-attend event for anyone who is serious about developing their
communication and leadership skills. This one day workshop features two
dynamic speakers and teachers-Dr. Susan Miller and Mr. Tom Calcagni-both
of whom will provide invaluable guidance and instruction concerning the
art of public speaking and presentation.
Susan Miller, Ph.D. is founder of Voicetrainer, LLC, a voice and
communication consulting business. She specializes in refinement of the
speaking voice, anxiety reduction, accent modification and treatment of
the injured voice user. Dr. Miller has over twenty-six years of
experience with professional and amateur speakers, radio and news
broadcasters and singers.
Tom Calcagni is a top communications consultant who has been teaching
senior executives, political pros and even a celebrity or two to prepare
for interviews, and more importantly, how to take control of them. He
currently serves as Chief Communications Strategist for the Special
Libraries Association (SLA) in Alexandria, VA.
