Hi John,
I am writing to you as a coordinator for a NACO funnel and not as an
institutional liaison.
The practive of the Hebraica NACO Funnel is to have me (the Coordinator) and
our LC liaison review all contributions until such time as a funnel member
has "passed" a quality control review and been declared independent. We
require separate reviews for different types of headings in terms of their
complexity (straightforward 20th century personal names, historical and
rabbinic names, corporate bodies, series). At such time as a trainee becomes
independent for a particular type of heading, they are not required to
submit them to me for review. We maintain a listserv for discussions of
descriptive and subject cataloging of Hebraica and Judaica, and funnel
members are welcome to send me and our liasion headings for review at any
time, even if they are independent. I hope this helps.
Best, Heidi Lerner (Coordinator, NACO Hebraica Funnel)
