Adam, my recollection is that this was not something implied in RLIN,
where the cataloger could access multiple records for the same
manifestation within a given "cluster," and the heading in one
record in the cluster could have a date while another record in the
cluster might not. In that situation there was no obligation to cite
the specific library that contributed the record just because one was
basing the authority record on the same manifestation. An analogy in
OCLC would be institutional records. In the OCLC environment, would
we really want to cite a specific institutional record if there was
only one work in the database by an author but multiple institutional
records associated with it and only one of the records had a heading
with the date?
