Yes, they are asking to withdraw the B codes. And compatibility with ISO
639-3 means honoring their request, because it uses 639-2/T in cases of
alternative codes. But of course we can't use that criteria for all cases,
or we would be changing 22 codes for the most frequently used languages in
bibliographic databases and that would be really disruptive to users of
639-2/B.
