Sorry in advance for any cross-postings.
As we know, many archival audio things were recorded on video, such as historical interviews and the
like. As we also know, the number of video tape machines and associated equipment is declining.
U-Matic machines are not made anymore and I think pro-grade VHS is either not made or on the way to
not being made soon. Even decent-quality consumer-grade VHS machines are getting hard to find.
I have two working video edit-controllers available, includes hookup cables to go to suitable VCR's
plus manuals. The controllers are powered by their connections to the VCR's. They can be used to
make insert edits, of course, but are also handy as desktop remote controls for VCR-to-digital
transfer work.
1. JVC RM-86U. This was used with pro-grade VHS decks but it may work with certain JVC U-Matic decks
also.
2. Sony RM-450. This was used with pro-grade U-Matic decks but may work with other Sony decks
covering other formats.
Either for $175 each or both for $325. You pay UPS Ground and I do have suitable boxes for these so
no UPS Store packing fees involved. US buyers only, please as these are too big to ship overseas.
Plus, I think they're NTSC anyway, so not very useful outside the US.
Please ping off-list.
