There have been a few comments lately on this email list inquiring about the
status of EAC, so I want to bring everyone up to speed.
The EAC Working Group has been working hard to provide a revision to the
standard for the archival community. We met in May of this year for three
days to review the existing beta version and to work on the architecture of
the standard. We are currently working on an XML schema and related
documentation which we will make available for review. I will provide
updates on our progress as things move forward. If anyone is interested in
participating in this testing phase or if you have questions about EAC-CPF
(Encoded Archival Context - Corporate bodies, Persons, and Families), please
don't hesitate to contact me.
I would like to thank everyone who provided input on the beta standard.
There were many valuable insights that helped inform the working group's
progress.
