SESAC recorded some fairly well known jazz artists in the 50s and 60s,and identified them on their nicely packaged Lps,and EPs.Among the artists they recorded were Woody Herman,Sy Oliver,and Chico Hamilton (with Eric Dolphy).Pick up the jazz ones like this.Sometimes they can bring a few coins on eBone.

Note that in those early days "Folk Music" was often used as a
euphemistic term for "hillbilly" (or, these more correct days,
"Country And Western"...!

In fact...with a few exceptions..."transcriptions" were intended to
provide radio with "no big name" performances of popular tunes, which
could then be used to fill up time not yet sold to a sponsor...! As it
happened, some of the bands used to record these went on to
fame, fortune, and a "big name"...while others remained in the
depths of oblivion granted by the musical gods to those hapless
souls who are good enough to play well in public...but who NEVER
made the enviable level of "recording star"... !
