I'd like to comment on the Swedish recordings
only, since I'm most familiar with that music.
Hope you get lots of inputs from other
countries:-)

The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (started
1927) made a number of recordings of Swedish
classical pieces 1940 to 1951 with the Swedish
Broadcasting Company (a monopoly at the time).
Many of these were not meant to be sold
commercially, but used for radio concerts (or so
I'm led to believe). The pieces you list are
well-known concert pieces, but I haven't found
them among those mentioned above, in those
couplings.

Sten Frykberg (1910-1983) was a well-known
conductor and composer, and later presented a
popular request radio show.
Dag Wirén (1905-1986) 'Alla Marcia' is a movement
from his 'Serenade for Strings' 1937, and the
March theme was used for a TV series on BBC
William Seymer (1890-1964) 'Sun flower' is
probably the piano piece 'Solöga', literally 'Sun
Eye' from the suite 'Sommarcroquiser' 1920
Wilhelm Peterson-Berger (1867-1942) 'Froso
flowers' are parts of his piano compostion in 21
parts, 1896-1914
Hugo Alfvén (1872-1960) 'Midsummer Eve' is a
movement from his Swedish Rhapsody No. 1, 1903
Lars-Erik Larsson (1908-1986) 'Pastoral suite' is
a development from his lyrical suite 'Dagens
stunder' (Moments of the day) 1938 written as
incidental music for radio
Evert Taube (1890-1976) composed and sang mainly
popular songs in a troubadour tradition, and the
medley may have been put together by Frykberg
himself.

I'd venture to say that the pieces put together
forms a popular classics concert for attracting
an audience not used to full symphonies. Years
