Hello -
Please join us for the next in our regular monthly series of free
Department of the Interior Library Park Ranger Speaker Series lectures
on "The White House and President's Park" next Tuesday, July 15th from
1:00 - 1:45 pm in the Department of the Interior Library.
The White House has been the home of every President of the United
States since John Adams moved into the Executive Mansion in 1800. It is
significant as a symbol of classic federal architecture, the Presidency,
and for the momentous decisions and events that have occurred within its
walls over the years.
Please join National Park Service Ranger Mike Moreno for a look at the
architecture and history of the White House, its surrounding grounds
(known as “President’s Park”), and how the Executive Mansion has
developed over the years to become emblematic of the American Presidency
and the United States.
All that are interested are invited. The DOI Library is located in the
Main Interior Building, located at 1849 C Street, NW, Room 1151 in
Washington. Space is limited so please contact the Library by phone at
(202) 208-5815 or by e-mail at [log in to unmask] to let us know you will
be coming. For more information about future DOI Library Park Ranger
Speaker Series programs, we encourage you to visit our Park Ranger
