Hello Mr. Duffield,
Besides the books which came with each of the 15 sets on LP [ for example,
with "The Swing Era 1930-1936" volume, "Wonderful Times: Making a Lot Out of
a Little" (New York: Time Life Records, 1971) ], I would recommend "The
Music of Billy May: A Discography" (Westport, CT: Greenwood Press, 1998) by
Jack Mirtle. The recording sessions are thoroughly documented there, and
include interesting comments by Billy May.

Hi All
Can anyone recommend a source for background material concerning the Time
Life Swing Era recording project?
Thanks
