Seeking recommendations for a _low cost_ video capture device. USB or Firewire, either is OK. Must
work with Windows XP. I just need to transfer some personal VHS and U-Matic tapes. No need for
anything remotely fancy but obviously I need to capture to DVD-grade NTSC video, not YouTube grade.
Ideally, this thing will have composite (yellow RCA), left and right audio and maybe S-video inputs.
I don't think I need good "recorder" software because I think I can record directly into Sony Vegas
Movie Studio software, but obviously whatever drivers there are need to be standard so the Sony
software can find the video stream. Let me say again, _low cost_ is the operative word here. I have
almost no budget for this. The only reason I'm not using my JVC VHS/DVD recorder is that I'd like to
do some editing and transitions and a little DVD authoring. I can do all that in the Sony software
but I need to suck the video into the computer to get it into the Sony software.
Thanks in advance for any tips!
