This issue has been very much on my mind so I glad to see your posting. 
I would be interested in helping you with that panel--at the very least I
will attend. Sylvia is heading up that task force--Task Force on
Competencies and Education for a Career in Cataloging” --which is a
subcommittee of the ALCTS Committee on Education, Training and Recruitment
for Cataloging (ALCTS/CETRC)--this is taken from their website at LC.
