The Montague Institute will hold a series of 3-hour training sessions on
how to implement taxonomies and search in Microsoft Office
Sharepoint Services 2007. The sessions will be conducted via
teleconference from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (Eastern time) on September 30,
October 1, and 2, 2008.
The first session will cover how to plan for search and navigation, types
and levels of search in the Sharepoint framework, and how to set up
content collections.
The second session will cover how to define and use scopes, manage
keywords and Best Bets, customize the search results page, and use search
Web parts.
The third session will cover advanced customization tasks, navigation, and
taxonomy integration. At the end of the third session, Stephen Schuster of
ASTAR Air Cargo will describe how he uses Sharepoint's native SQL metadata
repository to search a terabyte of data as an alternative to Sharepoint
full text search.
