OCLC has had preliminary discussions with the Bibliographic Standards
Committee of the Rare Book and Manuscript Section on adding the RBMS
vocabularies to the OCLC Terminologies Service. Terminologies outputs
MARC fields in OCLC Connexion.

Subject: seeding the local subject/genre authority files
We have migrated this year from Geac Advance to Aleph and would like to
seed the local subject and genre authority files as much as possible.
Does anyone know if the RBMS vocabularies are available in MARC format?
If not MARC, has anyone built MARC records from the RBMS lists for
importing into a MARC environment?
We know that the Getty vocabularies are available for licensing and will
look at that. Since Advance built local authority records, we have
briefly discussed exporting the AAT terms we used locally for seeding
the Aleph database, allowing catalogers to pull existing AAT terms into
new records. Has anyone else done this sort of thing with any
vocabulary? If so, in what ILS environment?
Thanks for any advice you can pass on.
