Indeed it is of interest, thanks! In fact question 14 ("What percentage of your holdings, based on number of collections, are described in:" with a list of options including EAD) is just the kind of thing I was looking for, and there's some data relevant to my question in the body of the paper too. I see that this was targeted towards archives; I'd be interested to see a similar set of responses for special collections (i.e. where their holdings are manuscript collections rather than institutional archives/records).
