I don't know if it's the same song, but Oneida choirs still sing this melody, and for a song associated with funerals. Southern shape note singers use it for a hymn in the Sacred Harp hymnal known as "Windham" that's also concerned with death and the hereafter. The Oneida have a long tradition of composing and singing Christian hymns in their language, sometimes using melodies from Anglo-American protestant hymnody. Some beautiful field recordings of Oneida singers were made by Helene Stratman-Thomas for the Library of Congress in Wisconsin in 1946.
