Hello everyone,
I want to thank those of you who responded to my e-mail of May 4th
(below) requesting information on your telework policies. I received
three very interesting responses from HQ, Army Materiel Command, NIH,
and PTO. I was wondering if the rest of you utilize telework in your
agencies. If you do, it would be very helpful if you could send me
information on your policies and procedures too. I would like responses
sent to me by next Friday, June 12th.
Thanks so much for your help!
Karl

Hello everyone,
On April 29th John Berry, the new Director of the Office of Personnel
Management, announced his plans to expand the use of telework throughout
the federal government. See the URL below for more information:
http://www.opm.gov/news/opm-director-berry-drives-plan-to-increase-telework-among-federal-employees,1460.aspx
In addition to assisting staff balance their personal and work lives,
telework can be effectively employed when agencies are faced with a
disaster or health emergency. Critical library functions can continue to
be performed while employees are not present on-site.
The FLICC Human Resources Working Group would like to develop a
telework policies, procedures and best practices web page that can be
referred to by federal agencies as they implement or enhance telework
programs.
If your agency has policies or procedures you can share with FLICC,
please send them to me at [log in to unmask] . We are particularly interested
in policies that directly relate to library and information centers.
Thank you,
Karl
