Gain preservation knowledge from the experts! In this three-part cooperative program, you will go from basic theory to practice and then on to apply what you've learned to your agency or program.
Part I
The perfect introduction to this outstanding opportunity is Preservation 101, a free online self-paced course on the basics created by the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC). Contact Anne Harrison on [log in to unmask] for information on taking this course.
Part II
The centerpiece of this three-tier program is a week long Preservation Institute at the Library of Congress taught by the Library's renowned Preservation Directorate staff. From August 17 through 21, 2009, learn how theories are put into practice in the oldest and largest U.S. library preservation operation. Attendees will also tour the Library's preservation facilities and network with colleagues on today's preservation issues.

Part III
The third part of the program is a series of Online courses from Lyrasis (formerly Solinet and Palinet), a leader in providing preservation training and service to libraries and other cultural institutions. You will learn to apply preservation principles and processes in your institution and explore special topics:
