PCC NACO Training Invitation

NACO Training Course at the Library of Congress (LC), Washington, DC
The Cooperative Programs Section is offering a five day NACO training course at the Library of Congress, September 14-18, 2009. This session may be of greatest interest to new or current NACO libraries who have a small number of catalogers in need of training, and who do not anticipate having a NACO trainer visit their institution to work with a larger group. Each institution will be responsible for its trainees' travel and accommodation costs. Also each participant will download and bring their printed training manual with them to class. To register for training:
1. If institution is already PCC NACO member submit a Name Authority Institute registration form for each participant: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/naco/instappl.html
Deadline: Thursday, August 6, 2009.
2) If institution is not a PCC NACO member submit an application to join the PCC NACO Program: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/naco/nacoappl.html. Deadline: July 28, 2009. Upon notification that the PCC has approved membership submit the Name Authority Institute registration form for each participant even though they may be from the same institution: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/naco/instappl.html . Deadline: Thursday, August 6, 2009.
3) Wait for confirmation of participation in the course before making any travel reservations. Tentative hotel reservations may be made in advance, because they are more flexible. Deadline: Monday, August 10, 2009.

Keep in mind that the Library of Congress is accessible by Metro from both the Blue and Orange lines at the Capitol South Station.
