All, I will bring a draft with the comments to our meeting. I am hoping
to download a copy of the draft and incorporate the changes we are
discussing as much as possible and bring that for our discussion. I may
be doing this also at ALA on Saturday.

Obviously this is the only item on our agenda. But, what I hope to
achieve, overall, is a consensus that we are moving in the right
direction.

See you at ALA, Peter

numbering???!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for my absence from the list. I came back from Japan at the end of
last week, but got a bit sick when I left. I have also been trying to
catch up emails and the draft comments after came back to work
yesterday.

I'm relieve to hear Peter found the way to clean up the draft on
GoogleDocs. I knew there's some odd things Google Docs does (can not
completely control formatting including color and/or font of the text,
etc.). However, those strange numbering haven't happened before. I think
Robert is right that, I probably should have not just directly copy &
paste MSWord doc into GoogleDocs, but I was rushing to share the draft
with the group as soon as possible at that time.

Anyway, I am slowly adding the more comments online. I hope when Peter
comes back from his vacation (enjoy!), I could be completely caught up
with the group.

- Keiko

The problems are probably the result of copying the original document
with its original formatting from Word into GoogleDocs - I've got into
trouble copying from Word onto the Web before. I don't know how to
clean it up, but at least the numbers actually in front of the headings
are still correct if you can ignore the extra ones. Once we have a
nearly final text and a good idea of everything we want to say in our
report, I would recommend deleting all the existing numbers and headings
and putting the text back together in whatever overall structure seems
to make sense at that point. And then we should put it back into Word
or PDF.
