Many of these websites require that you have enabled cookies so when
you click on the link it will know which country you're from
(assuming you've set it once).
So, once you select the country, then you should go directly to the page...
OR for some reason the website is discovering that you are using a
Mac browser version that it's unfamiliar with and isn't having a good
conversation with it.
Tom said it worked in IE8 and I've confirmed it worked in FireFox 3.5.2.
You have also confirmed that once you got there, the URL was the same, I think.
Therefore, I propose my explantions are the most likely.
