Social media is a rapidly growing use of current technologies both in
the United States and around the world. Efforts in the United Kingdom
expand the employment of social media as a tool to encourage digital
engagement.
Speaker Biography
Carol Tullo is the Director of Information Policy Services at the
National Archives in the United Kingdom. She is responsible for the
Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI), Archives Sector Development
services, and information management and collection research.
Tullo is also Queen’s Printer for Scotland, Controller of Her
Majesty’s Stationery Office (HMSO), Queen’s Printer of Acts of
Parliament and Government Printer for Northern Ireland. Prior to
joining the Cabinet Office in 1997, Tullo practiced law at the Bar in
London and had a successful career in law and professional publishing.
She is responsible for providing strong, coherent leadership in
information management and policy both across government and in the
wider public sector. Tullo is a visiting professor in Information
Science at City University, London and an executive committee member of
the International Government Printing and Publishing Association.
