All -
Until a more complete data set is mounted at Stanford University, one can consult DISMARC.org for discographic listings of American Columbia and RCA Victor (the latter not yet complete, of course) classical 78s, with recording dates, matrix numbers and in most cases recording locales. The DISMARC site opens with a query screen - simply put in the name, release number or matrix number. Similar data will be found at the CHARM discographic web site, though I'm not sure if it's been opened yet.
DISCMARC also includes the majority of Columbia classical LPs, mono and stereo + a healthy selection of RCA Classical LPs .... and a whole lot more 78s and classical LP data, practically all, if the data still existed, with recording dates and session locations. All of the above referenced are works-in-progress (discography is a never-ending quest) so please be understanding if the record you're looking for isn't there yet.
Please contact off-line for more information.
Regards,
Mike Gray
