There was an article several decades ago in Allen's 'Antique Phonograph
Monthly,' and perhaps he will post it.
--------------------
The debunking article by Allen appeared in APM in 1992, in Vol. X, No. 2,
pp. 9 - 11.
The words of the purported soundtrack end in "Freedom Law and Love (as does
the Levi's commercial), whereas the original printed version of the poem
("America") ends with "Chair'd in the adamant of Time."
Among other things, Allen pointed out that Whitman's last years were
chronicled by his personal secretary (day by day), and such a visit for
recording (he was wheelchair bound) was quite unmentioned.
