It was most interesting to hear the NPR spot about the 100th anniversary
of the Polk Miller and the Old South Quartette session at the Edison Studio
November 13 , 1909. The definitive Blue Amberol cylinder discography by
Alan Sutton ( Mainspring Press 2005 ) shows the session took place in the
Edison Studios in NY City on the above date and that this information was
obtained from studio documents and the Edison cash books .
In particular it was a delight to hear a snippet of Jerusalem Mourning
which is a two minute wax record ; recorded during the November 13 session ;
copies of which are extra rare . Thanks to Ken Flaherty .
