I do not know, but would expect them to be pressed CDs, NOT CD-r.
Other releases I've purchased from HIP-O SELECT were regular cd's.
They seem to model themselves on RHINO HANDMADE.

for those interested, HIP-O Select has recently released a "complete" Buddy Holly 6-cd set.
this includes early recordings, NY apartment tapes, as well as the Decca Coral Brunswick releases.
The session he did with Carolyn Hester still seems to be lost.

Just received an e-mail announcing the launch of
the VERVE SELECT label - limited edition CD sets
(via HIP-O SELECT).

First release includes
ELLA FITZGERALD  (4CD unissued nightclub recordings)
BILLIE HOLIDAY   (2CD Commodore & Decca masters)
OSCAR PETERSON   (3CD "rare live, all Mercury singles, tracks from various
albums, plus two unreleased cuts.")

It will be interesting to see how successful this is.....
