The best sounding I've heard by far are the lynx cards.
That said, conventional wisdom is pretty much correct that there is no more
hostile noise environment nor dirtier power supply for analog audio
circuitry than what's found inside of a typical computer. This problem is
compounded if unbalanced audio connections are used.
