Thanks to Steve Ramm for alerting me that airfares took a significant dive today. Flights to New Orleans from my market between May 18-22 dropped to $232 today, down from an average fare of $350. Check out www.kayak.com for the best fares from your airport. Unlike other sites, fares posted on Kayak include all fees and taxes, plus it links you directly to the airlines to make your purchase.
The ARSC conference website has also been updated to include hotel registration links at http://www.arsc-audio.org/conference/
Plan now to secure a room in the heart of the French Quarter at the conference rate of $129 s/d. We have a limited number of rooms on hold for ARSC conference attendees and once they are gone, any remaining rooms in the hotel will be sold at rack rate which could be double the ARSC rate. Also, there is a major medical convention in New Orleans during those same dates, so rooms may be scarce.
We have been working hard to keep the conference as affordable as possible, and with these low airfares and hotel rates I hope many of you will make plans to attend the ARSC Conference in New Orleans. Program details will be released next month, but I had a sneak peak at the submissions and am very excited. I think I can safely say that there will be something for everyone, including sessions covering just about every genre of music that's been produced in Louisiana. Plus special guests!
Stay tuned - the website will be updated regularly over the next month.
